What exactly is Begu?


Begu is a premium seed and nut spread, inspired by an old Kenyan family recipe. It’s naturally rich, lightly sweetened (with no added sugars), and packed with goodness from cashews, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts ...

Is Begu vegan?

Yes! 100%. No dairy, no animal products, just natural, wholesome seeds and nuts blended into a creamy, versatile spread. Please read each flavour carefully...

Do I need to refrigerate it?

Only after opening. Once opened, keep Begu in the fridge for maximum freshness. It’s made to last up to 30 days, but because of the ingredients we use it can last even longer. Just give it a stir if it separates, that’s totally natural.

Can I cook or bake with Begu?

Absolutely. Begu is incredibly versatile, you can spread it, bake it, drizzle it, blend it in smoothies, or even freeze it. It’s more than a spread, it’s a secret weapon in the kitchen.

Does it contain any allergens?

Yes. Begu contains nuts (cashews and walnuts) and seeds (sunflower and pumpkin). Also depending on the flavour too. It’s made in a space that handles nuts, so it’s not suitable for those with severe nut allergies.

How long does Begu last?

Unopened, Begu has a shelf life of 30 days (and longer if stored well). Once opened, refrigerate and enjoy within 30 days. You’ll probably finish it way before that anyway :D

Where do you ship?

We currently ship across the UK via different delivery providers delivering to you as fast as possible. We’re working on opening up international shipping soon, sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Each Tub of Begu is made fresh to order. We aim to ship within 1–2 business days after purchase. Once shipped, typically delivers within 2–4 working days.

Do you accept returns?

Because Begu is a fresh food product, we don’t accept returns. However, if your item arrives damaged or there’s a problem, we’ll offer a refund. Just send us a photo of the issue within 15 days of receiving your order, and we’ll sort you out.

Why is it called Begu?

Begu comes from the Swahili word Mbegu, which means seeds. It’s a tribute to our roots, our recipe, and the very core of what makes our spread special.
