We find the term ‘detox’ a bit misleading which is why we do not mention it. Technically your body contains all the tools it needs to ‘detox’ in the form of kidneys, liver, skin etc. Therefore diets claiming to detox the body may not do quite what you expect. Yes you can. We would suggest you avoid the high calorie flavoured coffee’s from popular coffee houses as these can be surprisingly calorie rich once you add the syrup, whole milk and whipped cream. They may taste great but can contain well in excess of 600 calories in some cases. Therefore if you fancy a coffee stick to black or with a little skimmed or soya milk. Also bear in mind some coffee’s can be high in caffeine. Our body adapts quickly to high amounts of caffeine which can result in excess intake and thus increased heart rate and poor sleep quality. Therefore we would not recommend excessive consumption of strong coffee. Our tea has been specially blended to give you just the right amount of stimulation without any of the side effects.
Simple really. Take a look at our begunutrition guide that comes with your tea or if online, you cant miss it as its the large button on the left once you’ve logged in and come to the begunutrition welcome area. This will tell you what we recommend in terms of numbers of meals etc…, then use the filter to find the meals that suit you. Don’t forget to take a look at our reference documents if you have time. Matched to the tea we recommended, they contain some really useful do’s and dont’s which may help keep you on track.
Yes you can, but we would like to take a look first. All the entries on our database are carefully vetted for nutritional content and matched to our tea plans. If you come across a recipe or product in store that you would like to share then we would love to hear from you. You can send it to us via email or send us a picture of the information and once we take a look we can add it.
Yes of course you can. Although we have put in a lot of effort to have foods in there that suit as many people as possible, we recognise that not everyone can find or has the time to find the right meal 100% of the time. We would just recommend that you stick to common sense. That means try to go for whole foods if you can…not processed. This means meats, vegetables and wholegrains, rather than pastries and white pastas and breads, or foods that have been blended with many other ingredients, which is very common in pre-prepared foods. We are adding to our library all the time so if you want to add something, see our FAQ about getting foods added (subject to us taking a look first of course ;-))

We are working hard to expand our meals to cover as many places as possible, so please bear with us, as there is a lot out there and it changes all the time. If you cant find anything from the food outlet you regularly go to, then it might be that we haven’t added it yet, or it might be that we looked and decided there wasn’t anything healthy enough at the time! If you are not sure, send us an email on email@example.com or via Facebook and we can let you know. In the meantime, look for some alternatives that suit your tastes. We would hope there is enough choice to keep you eating healthily.
This is a very good question and if you look at the latest scientific evidence, it is somewhat conflicting. There is some suggestion that sugar can promote cravings of sweet things, which is obviously not a good thing. It would make sense as your body will quickly metabolise simple sugars, causing a drop in blood sugar and therefore cravings for more, however scientific evidence of this is not established yet. Fats have had a lot of bad press for many years, and still do, however there is again emerging evidence that not all fats are bad for you. Fish oils, and dairy fats for instance might actually be the good guys. Carbs have been the subject of all sorts of fad diets of late, mostly in terms of a ‘low carb’ diet. Again these can be misleading and not necessarily a good thing, as there are good and bad carbs. So cutting down on the cake…good…cutting down on all carbs, perhaps not so good. Essentially and quite simply we would recommend keeping sugars to a minimum (including artificial ones), stick to fish oils and a little dairy (plus a bit for cooking of course), and go for whole grain carbs (wild or wholegrain rice, quinoa etc…) Take a look at our recipes in begunutrition, as we have done a lot of the hard work for you :-).
It’s really simple, make sure you have warmed for at least 5 minutes before getting started. This is really important.
Use the advice and example stretches provided to warm up.
Try walking or jogging on the spot (or even outside) to increase the body’s temperature
Or perform Dynamic Stretches to reduce muscle stiffness and/or specific stretches for muscles that will be used during exercises (see the stretch examples provided)
Dynamic stretching (a routine where momentum and active muscular effort are used to stretch and the end position is not held. It prepares the body for physical exertion and increases the range of movement, blood and oxygen flow to muscles before the workout). This form of stretch can improve performance and reduce the risk of injury.
For a full body workout, follow the guidance under ‘How to use begufitness’ on the website. There is a great range of instructional videos to follow that target different general zones of your body. We recommend selecting 2 different exercises from each of the categories for each workout – upper body, lower body and core strength. By changing the exercises you do, this will keep the body guessing and you more interested and inclined to keep going.
Do this 15 – 30 minute routine 3 or 4 times a week, beginning with 8 – 12 reps of each exercise and build up to 3-4 sets of each.
Be sure to rest for 30 seconds between each set and drink plenty of water.

Whilst we give guidance as to how to perform any exercises, it is your responsibility to warm up properly and ultimately to decide whether or not you are capable of performing the exercise/workout without sustaining injury. (Please see our disclaimer on the website).
This is up for debate. Endurance-type and resistance training both have positive effects on your body and wellbeing generally.
Endurance training is performed with moderate intensity but resistance training has effects on basal metabolic rate (BMR).
The benefit of resistance exercise is that a single session can provide a sustained increase in BMR for up to 48 hours post workout (and even longer has been observed) which can help with weight control. The reason being that this sort of training develops muscles, which compared to fat tissue, requires more calories to fuel. Therefore, the more muscle mass you have, the greater your BMR.
Another popular exercise type is high-intensity interval training or HIIT, whereby low or moderate intensity exercise is interspersed with short periods of high-intensity exercise. Particularly good for those with limited time, this has been shown to provide quick and beneficial changes in metabolic function and even lower body fat. This is not for everyone, it is gruelling and hard to sustain.
Ultimately, everyone is different, so the best exercise for losing weight is one that you will regularly do. It’s hard to keep doing something which you get no enjoyment from, so if HIIT is just no fun, or if lifting weights fills you with fear, go for what suits you and your lifestyle. The important thing is to keep at it (and eat and drink well of course).
We do recommend that you vary your routines using our online video database. By combining different types of exercise together in routines or varying what type of training you do from one session to the next, means you should get the optimum and sustained benefits.
It is important to remember that it is very difficult to impact body fat in a meaningful way through exercise alone.
Weight loss through exercise solely differs also between individuals. Many other factors are at play including your genes, biological and behavioural considerations.
For exercising, rather than thinking of what is the absolute best out there, we suggest trying our workouts and finding what works for you, where you are satisfied with the results, and also most importantly something you actually enjoy doing and will keep up!
Exercising, in whatever way, has a huge range of benefits, not just on losing weight, you will reduce the risk of heart attack, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, feel good, sleep better, reduce stress. So many positives!

- add more reps (but keep intensity high and use resistance that challenges you)
- add more sets
- use a stronger band
- complete more total exercises per workout

You can stay on the begulife plan for as long as you like, and stop whenever you want to.
Alcohol is very calorific and pretty toxic. Long term also its a depressant.
Actually, gram for gram, alcohol contains almost the same amount of calories as pure fat, so cutting this down or out completely could affect your weight, assuming you don’t compensate for the lost calories by eating more.
However, we’re all human, and if you fancy a little cheat now and then, we’d not say no.
Yes, that is the beauty of the begulife plans, they are fully flexible. We do suggest that you begin for month 1 with the system cleanse, however after this you should no longer need this tea in the package specifically, although it does taste great and work very well. You can select the teas you want when you purchase in the shop, and for future months, if you want to try something different, they can easily be swapped within your account settings.
Protein shakes after a great workout are fine, to replace lost fluids and salts and to help build that great looking body, but we don’t recommend using shakes instead of meals, as they can be high in sugar or other carbohydrates, or artificial sweetener and don’t give your body the healthy foods it needs.
You can swap teas within your plan but currently if you would like to add or remove a tea from your plan you will need to either cancel your plan subscription and start a new plan that suits you, or you can top up your plan with individual teas whenever you like from the shop.
If you are trying to conceive, are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should always seek professional advice before using. We recommend you take a copy of our ingredients on our ‘Shop’ page and discuss any concerns you might have with your doctor, nurse or pharmacist about whether Begu tea is suitable for you. You can change your tea choice at any time up to 14 days before your next payment is due. Your begulife plans are supplied to you automatically every 4 weeks, so if you decide you want to try a different tea, or upgrade (or even downgrade), you can easily do this in your account settings within the first two weeks after your plan has been dispatched.

Yes you can. All our plans can be suspended via your account if you need a little more time. As long as you allow at least 14 days before your next shipment. It may seem odd, but we are genetically engineered for times when food can be scarce (feast or famine), and so your body will naturally counteract any weight loss after a while to retain some fat reserves, which results in a drop off in weight loss also known as a plateau. Avoiding it is partly down to individual make up, and also avoiding prolonged static food and exercise plans. Yes, this is easy to do. If you login to your account, you can change the Payment Method for your begulife plan, provided payment has not already begun processing. For subscription products (begutwo, three and four) the change to payment method cannot be made less than 14 days from the date of the next 4-weekly payment being taken. For beguone and begutwo single one-off purchases (non-subscriptions), payment is taken at checkout.
If you are not happy with our teas or the huge range of meals or fitness advice provided, and no longer wish to continue with the begulife plan (we will obviously be really sorry to see you go) however you can cancel at any time, provided it’s 14 or more days from your next order being dispatched. We make every effort to get your product delivered to you in a timely fashion. Sometimes things may be beyond our control as we have to rely on couriers getting your package to you like every other Company. If your package is delayed for any reason then please contact us on email@example.com.
If you place your order by 2pm, and select next day delivery, it will be with you the very next day, provided it is not a Saturday or Sunday of course, as everyone needs a weekend off, even our couriers.
